{Sleepness Nights}

Last night was kind of a rough one so to speak. Lee and I were up a little late chit chatting, that wasn't the smartest night for us to do that. 1am rolls around and Elijah comes into our room saying "Momma the doggies are barking at me and trying to get in my room." (We don't have doggies, so either it was neighborhood dogs or a cute 3yr old dream). He climbed in bed and snuggled up to his dad and told him what happened, dad replied half asleep, "I won't ever let the doggies get you, I will protect you". That sort of my my insides go to mush. I let him lay in our bed for 10 minutes then carried him back to his bed. He woke up as I laid him down, "Momma lay down with me". How on earth do you say no to that? I of course laid down and he wrapped his arm around me and held me like a teddy bear. His face smelt of something sweet and so did his hands. I think as a parent your child always has this scent that warms your soul, and that one spot on their face that you love to kiss. I can't resist their cheeks and nose. Lee likes to kiss their forehead. I would lose a thousand nights of sleep for that.
Next would be Lawson. (Yes, when my kids choose to wake up in the middle of the night, they only do it together, one after another.) Around 1:30, after Elijah was sound asleep, Lawson woke me up to an awful belly cry, the one that screams "I don't feel good or I have soaked myself". It was the "I don't feel good". She had a fever, poor gal. So I went to work fixing her up, Tylenol, ice water, and some TLC. She seemed to be doing better and not so good for me, she wanted to play. We went through this cycle again and again until around 3:30am. I finally brought her to bed with us. With Lawson, I don't get as much hands-on love in return as I do with Eli (of course that is just the age, and I am fine with that). Lawson has a distinct scent too. When she wakes up she smells of heat and some sort of puppy breath :) I love it, she is my little puppy. I love the way she stands up in her crib when she sees me at the door, and falls over from the shakiness of just waking up. I will miss the day when her and her brother are too big for me to hold, and I wont get to feel them tuck their arms under their stomach as they lay on my chest (yes Elijah still does this). So, because I will miss this one day, I will cherish it now, and I still would lose a thousand nights of sleep for that.

Here are some pictures of my beautiful family sleeping (something we are really good at). These pictures are all from my phone so they are not going to look the best, but they are of the highest quality to me :) Enjoy.

Please note dad in the background.

Happy Friday everyone!

{A Big Girl.... Kinda}

Last week our family celebrated my daughter turning 1, yes the big first year. We had a party for her at our house, and so many friends and loved ones came and celebrated with us. We are so blessed.
My husband and I have a son, E, who will turn 3 in March. A few days after his first birthday, we found out we were pregnant with LaLa. So we were in a huge state of shock. Its funny because everyone around us, including my husband and I, were less supportive of our second pregnancy, than our first. Isnt that weird? I thought it was usually the other way around. Anywho, from the time I knew I wanted kids (which was a very long time ago, like I was probably 13), I always dreamt of having a house full of boys, all close in age. I saw my days consisting of stepping on cars, tripping over shoes, and washing loads of the dirtiest laundry imaginable. So when we went to the doctor November 20th, 2007 with our first child, and saw that he was a boy, I felt as if I had taken a step towards my dream. Well, after your first kid, you start to forget everything so I cant remember the day we found out what we were having with my second born, but I do remember sitting in the doctors offive at 17 weeks along. My mother-in-law and my mom were in there with me as he announced "Jessie, your gonna have a little girl", cheers and "YAYS!" were coming from everyone but me, I said "Crap!". To this day, I wish I could take back that word. LaLa is the apple of her daddys eye, E's sidekick, and she is the reason I am no longer out numbered in my house. I cherish that little girl so much, and I wouldnt have it any other way. It makes my heart warm at the thought of the Lord choosing us to be the parents of these children. He chose us. What an honor. Its crazy how proud you can be of a little girl who kept you without sleep for the first 6 months of her life, poops in her pants, and climbs on the most unimaginable things to make you have a heart attack at the age of 23. And my son, he can throw some of the worst tantrums I have ever seen, he loves to kick over or jump on my piles of freshly washed and folded laundry, and he broke one of my brand new Christmas decorations I just bought yesterday, but I am so proud of him. Im proud of the way he sings his ABC's with such confidence, and how he points out Jesus in his Bible, and how he will yank a toy out of his sisters hand in a heartbeat, but if she is crying he will make sure to hug and kiss her and say "Its gonna be ok baby".
Anyways, now that I have ranted on and on. Here are some pics from La's birthday party.

My helper, he knew the house had to be clean for the party ;)

LaLa has 4 men in her life that love her dearly

What kind of brother would he be if he didnt help her a little?

Some Dad sugars to top off the day

(Note: these were all taken inside without a flach, so the arnt of the best quality :) )

{The Kings} (my beautiful sister and her family of men)

I'm so excited about this post! Its another one of my favorites because it is my sister and her family, and a little of my momma and kiddos :). My sister and I are 4 years apart. Its a pretty good size gap, enough to make us not get a long all the time. We started to get really close the older we got, probably when I was around 12 we started to hit it off. Tonie can make me laugh to the point of tears. We are those sisters that have 5,000 inside jokes, and quote movies til we are blue in the face. She is ornery too. Her husband Brian is a lotta man for taking on such a wife as my sister (joke Tonie, kind of). They have three strapping young men (ages 5, 6, and 7) that are so handsome! My sister is totally outnumbered. Anyways I hope you enjoy a peek into my family, it is one of the most important things to me so I love sharing it with you!

Meet Brayden, Gavin, and Mason

And add in the parentals

One good looking family, wouldnt ya say?

A little love to gross the boys out :)

Do you think they have their hands full?

Isn't my sister gorgeous?

{Jordan & Page, and their wee ones}

I loved this shoot becasue Page is a dear friend of mine, we have been friends for close to 5 years now. We used to live together in our first aptartment, back before we had babies :). I consider there family part of mine, or maybe I consider myself part of their family :) haha. I am also very close to her younger sister Taylor, we were all inseperable at one point. Page had her baby boy Carter Gray, 1yr and like 5 days after I had my son Elijah, and on the day she had Carter, I found out I was pregnant with Lawson. Weird. Oh and now she is preggers again! She has a very handsome man Jordan, and with him comes the sweet little package of Little Jordan. He is seriously the goofiest kid, and totally adorable.

Cuties!

Probably my favorite of the day.

Happy Engagement you two loves!
