Oh man, I am so excited to share this post with you! (You, meaning the 10 people that read this blog. Yes my momma is one of them, haha.) Meet the lovely Sasha and Jay. I will start off and give you a little background info as to how we got so lucky to have met these fine folks. Sasha and Jay both went to ORU, and are both from out of state. Jay from Alabama and Sash from Michigan. My husband and Jay worked together at the Y and that was how they met, and in December of '09, Lee actually went to Birmingham to be Jay's best man in his and Sash's wedding. I love that. To me, being asked to be a part of someones wedding day is one of the biggest honors. I, unfortunately, could not make it due to having a 3 week old baby. I was bummed I wasn't able to be there. Jay and my husband continue to build a strong relationship with weekly bible studies and 5:00am trips to the gym. I would consider Sasha a very close friend as well. I feel that we have gotten even closer now that they will be welcoming a baby girl in September. Children help you bond with people :). I have loved being able to watch them go through this experience from day 1. I remember they found out they were expecting in December right before Christmas and I remember when I got to see a picture of the first ultrasound, and when I got the text that they were having a little girl. There are not many things that melt my heart more than the experience of becoming a parent.
Sasha and Jay are an amazing couple. They go perfectly together and balance each other out just right. They are both extremely competitive people, I think especially with one another :). The biggest thing that you will notice about Jay and Sash is their love for God. They both have a deep passion for Him and you can feel the warmth of the Lord when around them. I feel like as a Christian we want to live a life that is in honor of God and shows the love of God through how we live. Even though they are young and newlyweds, I think they do this so well. Its amazing and addicting to be around. Friends are people who should make you want to be a better person, bring out the best in you, make you laugh and help you back up after you fall. This describes perfectly Jay and Sasha.
Thank you both so much for letting us a be a part if your lives. Jay I look forward to seeing you as a father, your head is going to spin, but your going to make one little girl fall in love with you. Sasha I am so happy to be getting close to you. You are a gem and I cherish you and our blooming friendship. I am so excited for you to experience motherhood, in all its beautiful chaos. My advice to you both right now is to enjoy each other. Jay take every opportunity to steal your woman and take her out, lay with her on the couch, and fall asleep with her. Sasha, keep your eye on your husband. Watch all that he does for you and pay close attention, for when your baby gets here it can be easy to overlook him and all his work. It is easy to forget all of the effort your husband does when you have a child attached to you. :) Love you both very much and I hope you enjoy your pictures.
